Schools

In November 2010 we had a lovely time with year 7 and 8 children from The Bristol Metropolitan Academy. We listened to and discussed pieces of oral history, and learnt about interviewing and asking questions. Many of the children at Bristol Met are recent arrivals in the UK, we interviewed teachers about immigration stories and the children used these stories in a performance piece.

What the children said about the day

“I think the sound stories were good because you get to listen and with the power of histories it makes you imagine what they are talking about. I will remember the slave girl who got captured with her sister and then her mum went home alone”

Nathanial, Year 7
